| "The anticipation burrows deep within my mind as I sit here waiting for the clock to read the hour and minutes you said you'd be here. It is still 4 hours away, yet I'm watching the door and out the windows for the slightest trace that you may take me by surprise. My cheeks are warm with joy, yet the apartment always had a lingering cool feeling in the air, but I guess that's because I wasn't worrying so much and waiting for your car to enter the parking lot then.
The leaves are changing in a broad array of colors, all in their warmth and glowing their vibrant colors as the sun hits the leaves at the right angle to illuminate my room. The room in which I stay is quite small. Smaller than that I am accustomed to, but for this night, I won't worry about the tiny size of the room in which we will finally lay side by side...when we will finally feel each others touch... each others lips. Each thought desires another thought, and so I've built up this moment to be completely romantic. I hope I haven't overshot reality in my wild fantasies. The clocks numbers slowly increase as I await, lying on the bed staring out the window. Without a sound, you sneak in, some two hours early and startle me as I'm staring at the ceiling in a trance so deep and so focused on what will happen in a short while. I see you standing there at the edge of my bed and you're wearing jeans with a dark olive green colored shirt on with sleeves held at mid-length of the arm. Your dark, curly hair is in a ponytail. I'm amazed to see you standing there so beautifully. At that very moment, the sun begins to shed the light of the leaves as it's progressing downwards towards the western horizon. Your gaze becomes fixed on the leaves and you're amazed at this new scenery that's encapsulated you. I, too, am now gazing out at the leaves. "Do you like it?," I say with a little smile. "It's beautiful," were the only words you could utter. I sensed exactly how you felt; for being in the same room as you, you and I became one. Our thoughts were one, our bodies slowly became one...what you sensed happening, I sensed too... what you saw happening, I saw happening too. I felt this love as it warmed my veins after running so long with cold, icy liquid. I see your gaze fixing back on the leaves as they are in their most potent color, the redness the signifies our love. Before long, I am standing in front of you, looking into your eyes as if waiting for that very second...that very moment, for our lips to finally meet. Closing my eyes, my head slowly moves towards yours. My lips meet with those so soft and tender, anxious lips of yours. Our eyes both open at the same time as we're searching for the words in each others eyes. It's more like staring back into your own heart to see the same intensity of the emotions and feelings running faster than any other thought that's been in our mind." |
